Geography purists might carp that Coney Island is far removed from this restaurant in the land-locked Massachusetts city of Worcester. Hey, is every Paris cleaners in Paris? The hot dogs at Worcester's Coney Island are famous--originally cut from a spool by its jolly proprietor--and are every bit as juicy as their New York progenitors. Under the enormous enamel and neon sign of a hot dog dripping mustard is another classic, the 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air. 1955, '56, and '57 Chevrolets are considered THE classic Chevys from the 50's, and one look at this Bel Air tells you why. The styling is crisp and clean with well integrated fins and an exuberant face. Mechanically, these Chevy's boast balanced handling and the new 283 V-8, enlarged from the previous year's 265. Of course, none of this was any secret - over a million and a half Chevys were built in '57, many of which were Bel Airs such as this.
