Image Details:

A NASA spacesuit from the 1960s Gemini Program could sell for up to $500,000 when it goes under the hammer. The test suit, which was preserved by the Kansas Cosmosphere, includes a Gemini G-2C suit, G-2C gloves and G-5C boots. The vintage space gear was tested by a Chief Warrant Officer Mitchell B. Kanowski before being used by Gemini astronauts. The boots were made for Astronaut Frank Borman, Command Pilot of the Gemini 7 mission. Gloves were made for Astronaut Charles Conrad Jr., Pilot of the Gemini 5 mission and Command Pilot of the Gemini 11 Mission. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this lot will be donated to both the NASA College Scholarship Fund and the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation. The lot goes under the hammer at the Regency Superior Space and Aviation auction in Beverly Hills between April 16 and 17.
