HONG KONG - MARCH 21: The Metropole Hotel is shown March 21, 2003 in Hong Kong. Health officials in Hong Kong said that the global spread of the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), the mystery flu-like illness that's hit the area, seems to stem from a guest at a hotel in Kowloon, one of Hong Kong's most densely populated areas. Hong Kong authorities named the Metropole as the hotel where a sick Chinese professor from Guandong province stayed and infected five other hotel guests. There are now 165 patients with atypical pneumonia in Hong Kong, 306 globally according to the World Health Organization. (Photo by Christian Keenan/Getty Images)
